What rim sizes have you got.......Or are you stock. (popcorn)

G'day Frogger... My FJ is all stock and I have been using IRC Wild Flares. On my 4th set wear is good with plenty of grip. I have a mate that has a Yamaha Vmax he put a set on and instead of breaking traction he was able to get it on the back wheel, very impressed he was!. I have been paying $250 ride away for both front and rear. I don't think you need to spend good dollars on high rated tyres if you don't do the speed (Government to focused on raising revenue in this Country) as I stated earlier on my 4th set and not one problem. Cheers

Your tire choices are determined by your wheel size. Are you running the stock wheels or have you updated to 17 inch rims?
If stock, I had good performance AND longevity from Pirelli Sport Demons.
When installing 17 inch rims I went with the Conti- motions. I considered my riding style, price and what is the bikes purpose. My FJ is not a daily commuter, it's a weekend warrior that I put to the limits of the bike and rider so...ask yourself, what will I be asking from my FJ? Your answers will lead you to a narrowed field of tire options and compounds.

All stock, would you recommend the upgrade to 17 inch? Thanks for commenting.

Frogger,

I run my FJ1100 on Pirelli Sport Demons.  They are bias-ply, but they really work well.
If I had more money, I'd want Avon AV-45, AV-46 radials.  USA prices:

Cheers,

I ran the Avon AV/46 combo when my 86 had stock wheels. The only radials in that size. Now I have 17" front and rear, I can't decide what tire to try next, sooo many good choices.

Cheers for that, think I'll give the Avons a go, I want to keep the FJ stock standard but I know the 17 inch conversion's good. Decisions, decisions!
