I have witnessed how fast Randy can take my bike apart and put it back together. I don't think there will be any penalties incurred.   :good2:  Dave

Agreed Garth.  I myself have been suffering from Cantgototherallyosis.  Unfortunately, the proscribed therapy is out of the budget this year, so nothing else to do but to go to Horse Brass and get a pint of Billy and a scotch egg.   :drinks:

Hookers and beer is one way to handle it.. You've got the beer part figured out.. now all you need to do is talk a walk down Sandy Blvd. to take care of the other part.   :wacko1:

Good picture showing the differences in shape and height of the fairings between the early and later models, but one question I have to ask. Why is everyone bringing their bikes to the rally on a trailer, shouldn't you be riding them there. :pardon:

I'm sure all of the reasons are legit, and there are others who will not trailer, and ride to and from. If I had the time to do it, I'd be in the latter group, but I'd take the scenic routes, not the slabs.

Dan and I are loaded up, but heading up Friday morning early.  I hope to be in Willits by 0700 or so Friday, looking to join the group ride that day if we make it in time.  Dan won't join until Friday evening and will ride with us Saturday.

Here they are...

I rode my bike to several east coast spring and fall rallies, but once on a trip down I was run off the road by a car whose driver was acting at least as irresponsibly as I was... Technically the bike was totalled (maybe I will post up the ride report/adventure story again sometime) and if not for the help of friends I would have been stuck 4.5 hours from home.

The way I look at it driving down is cheap insurance for both Dean and Myself as I can easily load both bikes and gear in my truck,

Besides... who really likes long rides on the superslab? In my truck I have music, AC, coffee and can enjoy a cigarette or three without stopping. Sometimes I even eat a sandwich too...

With great regret I will miss this rally, have been so busy working I didn't even have time to log on. The original plan was to ride up Saturday but construction deadlines have no mercy and I went from working days to nights. I never even finished my brake job so I would have had to ride the FZ-1.........following all related threads though and hope to make next year's rally.
