I have installed the Thunderace swingarm and the rear master cylinder brake line will not clear the swingarm. How have other solved this? I saw where another had used a master with the line coming off the front instead of the side. I could not see which bike that was off of. Please help, any thoughts or suggestions are helpful.
Thanks Kurt

Thanks Derek, you beat me to it....
Kurt, I use the oem m/c with the side fitting. The banjo bolt on the m/c is a low profile R-1 bolt that looks like a button head Allen bolt.
Remember, the m/c is mounted to the aluminum side bracket so space your aluminum side brackets out with a couple of washers ( between the bracket and frame).
Pay attention to the bolts on your rear passenger foot pegs...I had to shave the left one down ( belt sander) so as not to hit the top of the swing arm (when fully compressed)
Lastly...raise up the rear ride height via shorter dog bones...
Derek and Pat thank you!!!!! I did put washers behind the side plate and was planing using the button head banjo bolt. Shorter dog bones done. I am still concerned this will not clear. Yours cleared ok? If there still looks like a problem I was thinking of machining a couple of mm off of the master cylinder mounting points. Thanks for the advise on the passenger foot rest bolts. Trying to complete the bike this week for the rally. Thank you again.
Kurt
Glad to help Kurt
Almost Rally time!!!
The depth of the socket is shallow on the button head banjo bolts. They strip easily. Make sure the Allen wrench is straight and fully inserted.
Make sure you disconnect the shock linkage andrun the swingarm up and down the full range of travel to make sure you have clearance before you ride.
Derek
Thanks Derek. With about 2 inches before hitting the inner fender, it hits the brake line off of the master cylinder. I would really like to find a different master cylinder.
Kurt
m/c swing arm contact with the tire 2 inches from liner?
With the short dogbones, and the back end raised, your tire should get nowhere near that high.
What kind of shock are you running Kurt?
I cut off the side plates. But instead off using R1 passenger pegs for exhaust. I just made a bracket. And instead of leaving the master attached to the side plate. I cut off. And made a bracket. And welded it to the tail frame. Which moved the master out in preparation for R1 swingarm.(//)
I agree with Pat. Your rear tire shouldn't get anywhere near that high. I think we have around 4" or so of travel on the rear. If you raise the ride height (different dog bones)so that the tire is just clear of the ground when on the centre stand, it should never get high enough to touch the master cylinder.
Derek
Thanks for the responses. I am just concerned in that O SHIT moment, a hard bottoming of the rear suspension would damage the rear maser and now no brakes. The consensus seems to be that this will not be a problem so I will quit worrying about it.
Pat, still running the R6 shock. It has been working great. Very happy with the shock.
Thank you everyone for the input. Hopping at WCR I can get some ideas for the front forks.
