Title: Control unit for the fuel pump dead
Post by: Dazza57 on May 01, 2014, 10:35:58 PM
Hi all, looking for some advice here. What the parts microfiche on PartShark says is the "CONTROL UNIT ASY  FOR FUEL PUMP
42H-85740-00-00" clicks when I try to start the engine and nothing happens apart from the neutral light going out. I wiggle the unit and the neutral light comes back on. I have checked all the connections and all appears to be OK.
Is this control unit just a relay and is it easily replaced with something else?

Perplexed Dazza

Thanks for that Pat, that is awesome info which will definitely come in handy down the road. I guess when I saw the price of replacing this relay, I was wondering whether anyone did something smart and cheap to get away from using the expensive Yamaha part.

Cheers, Dazza
