Post by: charleygofast on April 16, 2014, 12:37:37 AM
Glad to be here. I just bought an 84 fj. its stock with 36k the faring hes been chopped just above the scoops and the side covers and lower scoop are missing.          The bike was a 2nd hand mechanics claim that I paid 450 for it hadnt ran for 3yrs and the clutch master cyl  was leaking badly. Ive spent the last two weeks eves going through the bike and alladjustments and lubes. She fired right up and runs and drives excellent its smooth and fast and a blast to ride. About a year ago I bought another 84 fj that was dissasembled and boxed. Turns out the bike was owned for 20 years by a guy obsessed with makeing it faster its a 1280 cc motor Ablueprinted with cams 39mmflatslide mikunis ape clutch dyna coils Yoshi pipe different ignition and lower gearing... the guy claimed the bike ran 9s at the drag strip. Upon assembly I discovered two broken teeth on the cam. gear on the crank... project fj comes to a halt .A friend told me about the other bike and I jumped on it! Now I have an awesome pretty stock fj and a complete hop up kit. Ill probley leave the motor alone except the dyna coils pipe[good lord this thing is too quiet!] and a carb rejet > Anyway thats it for now Ill post more pics when my wife shows me how   oh yeah' anybody got a decent set of sidecovers to sell or trade and a Corbin seat w backrest I have lots of different bikes and parts willing to trade  Imlooking foreward to ridein this one every day I can  its gonna be a great summer!!!  Thanks all! Charley

84' side covers are very hard to come by. I would snatch these up even though they are a bit pricey.
