Started out the 2014 riding season with a trip to Eureka Springs AR to meet up with some fellow riders who know the roads.
My first time to the area, and it was fantastic. Great weather. 84 the first day in AR, then 70's and sunny. Took the ferry http://arkansasroadstories.com/peel.html (http://arkansasroadstories.com/peel.html) (thanks for the tip Joe) via Highway 125 across Bull Shoals Lake, from southern MO to Peel Ferry in AR, then did some solo riding which included Push Mountain Road (341). Next day, I rode (played follow the Leader) with the other riders, on even more roads. Like 23, 123 (Corkscrew?), 16, and many others I can't recall. Super riding and scenery.
Stayed at The Lodge at Eureka Springs http://thelodgeeurekasprings.com/ (http://thelodgeeurekasprings.com/), and cannot say enough good things about the place or the owners. Very accommodating, and like the area as a whole, bike-friendly.
Here comes the ferry...

Stopped for lunch at Sharon K's in Jasper

Quick trip. Four days, 1,956 miles, that included a 660 mile all-day ride home. Whew.
If you've never been there, it's highly recommended.

Marty,
The area that you just rode is where the Central FJ Rally is being held this coming July. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=10840.0 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=10840.0)

Marty,
I'm glad you got to enjoy some of what Arkansas has to offer. Great roads and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.
Fred,
I'm looking forward to the scouting trip in May. I hope to have the GSXR rear wheel on by then, but if not, no big deal. It's not like I'm sliding the Avon in the corners. :scratch_one-s_head:

Fred:
I've been following it since its inception, but I can't make the Central FJ Rally due to the timing of it. My loss.
Joe:
I did meet some genuinely nice folks in MO and AR. One of them was a Missouri State Trooper, who had to ask me about my Motofizz http://www.aerostich.com/medium-motofizz-camping-seat-bag.html (http://www.aerostich.com/medium-motofizz-camping-seat-bag.html) luggage, when I was stopped for gas at a point right before I started Highway 125 down to the ferry. He was very helpful about the area and its riding. He told me he was thinking about an FJR in his future.
