Title: Annual Ritual
Post by: PaulG on April 09, 2014, 04:46:39 PM
Sometimes you have to do things you'd rather not.  Like storing your FJ for six months outside during the winter.   :shok:  Yes, I can hear the clamour and din and the OMG's!    :ireful:  But she pulled through with flying colours.  The only things that crawled up in there and died were a couple of snails (?) :unknown:

Just ordered the oil filter conversion, bar risers, and K&N air filter from RPM.  After some scrubbin' and TLC and such - oh yeah and a front tire... - I'll be poodling along in no time.

For those of you who suffer through sunshine all year round (bastards!  :mocking:), you may not know what Spring actually feels like around these parts  ...  :yahoo:

Well looks like the embed didn't work for me again.  I checked some of the other vids on the site for the video coding, and I though I had it right.  Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong (again) ?

Does storing it outside in the winter age it by an additional 10 years? Looks like a '92 but the text in the video says that she's "32 years young"....

... duuuuuhhhh .... I meant 22 (?) years ....  :scratch_one-s_head: - must have counted too many finnngggerrrs (2hrs sleep does that sometimes, usually most of the time)

And yes storing it outside is obviously not the best, but was unavoidable this year, and if wrapped right it's not much different than paying $500 for unheated storage.   :blum2:  Now that I have been thoroughly flogged...    :cray:

Any answer to why I can't embed a video?  I'm sure it's just me, 'cuz thats what the wife always sez.   :empathy3:

Great sound bite for the video. That is one of my favorite movies!

I grew up in Upstate New York and although everyone raved about the fall with the beautiful leaves changing colors, it always represented that winter was coming.  This is when I would have to store my first Yamaha on my front porch for the winter...covered, but still out in the bitter cold.  I truly miss the first warmth of spring when everything was springing to life...including my beloved Seca 550.   :good2:
