Title: Dog bones

I made these dog bones and rear brake torque arm. The dog bone rod ends are stainless as well as the double threaded adjusting bolt. One side is right hand threads, other side left hand so you only need to turn the center hex to adjust in or out. Pic shows full extension. Range of adjustment is 11.5-16.5 cm.

We use these stainless rod end adjusters on various equipment. Off the shelf marine equipment. Maybe not West Marine but commercial marine supply stores carry them. Since taking the pic I have put a jam/ lock nut on one side so adjustment is locked down.

I like the idea of a full floating dog one. Can't hurt, right?

Very nice Scott. :good2:
Are those little lock bolts I see on the rod ends?
To lock the threaded center portion?

I bet they are less costly than what Soupy wants for his....

Set the length carefully. Avoid doing adjustments on the bike. Do it on the bench.
The swing are bearings do not tolerate unequal length doggies.
Even a little...

Don't ask....

Especially if one asks Soupy to do anything the least bit special...  DAMHIKIJKOK?
I'm still running a set I made.

You know Scott, on second thought maybe it's not a good idea...

The spherical ball ends are going to wear and introduce unequal lengths....not good.

those are grease zerks to grease the ball. the processing equipment these are used on cycle a million times a month, literally. I will try them out and keep an eye for wear.

Point taken regarding bench adjusting and placing unequal stress on swingarm bearings, thanks.
