Title: FZ750 Fox Shock

An eBay find. A 85'/86' FZ750N Fox shock. For those that have 1100's and 86'/87' 1200's this shock may worth a try.

Ask the seller what the spring is rated....FJ's are heavy bikes compared to the FZ750.
Gonna need at least a 1,000 lb spring for the FJ
With the heavier spring brings the possibility the the shock will need to be re-valved.
Then there's the fitment issue.....

By the time it's all said and done, a $575 Penske Sport might look more attractive.

I've got one of these of my 86 (it's called - rather affectionately - a double clicker - due to compression and rebound adjustability) and I like it. However, be prepared for an overhaul from Lindemann engineering, who do great work but ask about 400 bucks for their brilliance. They re-valved my unit and changed the spring for my weight and recharged the nitrogen fill. A professional company - guess you get what you pay for.

A very good point Andy. I spent a afternoon with Ed Sorbo at his workshop in Redlands, Ca.
He set up my Penske triple clicker while he let me watch. A very rare event.  Ed took his time to explain every step of the process. His knowledge of suspensions is amazing. He spends his weekends at different tracks fine tuning suspensions for his clients.
Just to be able to walk thru his shop and see his stable of race bikes is worth it.
He is a very nice guy.

Back to the Fox shock: You know, the more I think about it, for the compression/rebound adjustability, $275 plus $400 to Lindemann Engineering, means you would have $675 into the project. Not that bad.

That is assuming the Fox shock is a relatively straightforward installation on the FJ.
