Hmmmmm....ever go to las Vegas?..... i believe the in-your-favor odds would be about the same for this shock working on your FJ
length?
spring rate? (i'm sure its wrong since the R1 is so light)
valving? (can it even be re-valved?)
adjustable ride height?
so you buy it for 50 bucks.....
try and find a spring the right rate to suit the FJ AND fit the shock ( add 100.00)
re-valve (if possible) 100.00 (+shipping both ways?)
custom bushes and clevis to adapt to fit the FJ shock mounts ?
after you got thru messing with it the 300 +/- bucks you spent would have put you halfway to a Penske sport shock that would bolt right on and work correctly right out of the box.
of course if you are going for a low RDI (relative duplication index) then this shock and all the work necessary to get it to fit/work is exactly what you're after.
