At last year's WCR I caught the 'moditus' bug and I think I am almost over it, after spending this winter with some upgrades. Found a nice blue anodized '92 GSXR 750 rear wheel. Ordered the JT sprocket (40) and a wave disc, went to install the disc to find one of the 5 bolts had its thread broken off in the hub. Spent way too much time trying to free it, without success. So drill and rethread. Had a boss welded to the swing arm for the brake arm. Dunlop Q3 tires were my choice and this gave a nice neutral handling with it easier to counter steer. I wanted to install dual Fiamm horns and was considering mounting on my engine bars but didn't really like that option. After staring at the bike looking for two fist sized holes to use I found such just in front of the gas tank. Just either side of the ignition coils. So they point down and forward and are really loud. Finally some dry weather and chance for a test, had a loudish noise kind of like a bad tappet when under 2500 rpm. Well it had been awhile since I did a valve adjustment so did that and only found one shim slightly out. Well I though let's do a compression test, 100, 110, 105, 50.... Damn. :ireful: So as my spare bikes engine that I had gone through last year was 125, 130, 135, 130 I decided to just do an engine swap and worry about the rebuild later. Good choice as it runs really good, had a little vibration above 4000 rpm which was cured with a carb sync. With that engine I also swapped the stock exhaust for the Delkevic units. So all smiles now as it has never run better and handling joyful. I thank all of you on the forum for all the numerous tips that have been so useful.
LONG LIVE THE FJ'S :yahoo:

Sounds like quite a project. Glad you're Happy with the results Henning! Some pictures would be great. Will we see you and Gary at this years WCR? We could use some more Canadian content.
Derek
