Tony,

Glad to hear you are healing well. Take care of those knees...

I can still get stock mirrors if you want them, just let me know and I can inquire about pricing.

I have a pair of mirrors here for a 3CV fairing. Does the 86 have this fairing?

New price was $180 a few years back.

Cheers

Richard

The 86' is fairing mount for the mirrors, but the surface angle and location are different. Not sure if different enough that the mirrors would or would not adjust properly. If you had an 86/87 owner near you a test could be done to find out.

I have '86 mirrors on my '89... slightly wider rear view.

I'd suppose the reverse might work, if'n you have narrow shoulders.

Tony, glad to hear you are on the mend...try this link (nothing like recycling) http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4774&page=3 (http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4774&page=3) - a very familiar name in amongst it.

Or this, you may have seen it already - Yamaha FJ1200 rear view mirror upgrade-How to install Honda CBR mirrors on Yamaha FJ1200 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD6qzbqMXsc#ws) - though you don't get to see the "fixing" of the mirror....

That's a good video and I am interested in trying to improve the mirrors on my bike.
It is an 1989 and they are mounted much lower on the fairing right beside the signal light.
Has anyone had any luck changing those out with something that was an improvement?
If so, what specific mirror worked?
Thanks

A common mirror mod for the 88'-90' 3CV is 2004 CBR1000 mirrors. I like how they look on the bike and the rear view is greatly improved.
I got mine from http://www.zillion8.com/motorcycle-mirror/honda-motorcycle-mirror/black-honda-cbr1000rr-mirror-2004 (http://www.zillion8.com/motorcycle-mirror/honda-motorcycle-mirror/black-honda-cbr1000rr-mirror-2004)

Fred, I have those same mirrors from zillion8. I reckon they are way better than they deserve to be for the money. I bought them just to try them out, and if I liked them intended to throw them in the bin and invest in a decent pair. I found them so good I never bothered.
While handling them in good light you can see the optics are perhaps not the best, but in use on the road, you couldn't pick the difference. No vibration either.

I love them, and I think they cost the princely sum of $18, for the pair!

Do not confuse these with Emgos.

Thanks a lot for the information about the mirrors.
Are they a bolt on mirror or do you need to modify the holes?
Thanks again, I'll be ordering a pair soon.

I ordered mirrors from zillion8 over month ago. I haven't had mirrors or answers e-mails I have sent. Well, PayPal is investigating, what is going on. Perhaps shop don't exist anymore, even they still take money . But I have found mirrors from Poland  :good2:.

Wow, another one. I ordered mine from Zillion in April. Paid with Paypal, got an order number back and nothing. What do you have to do to get your money back?

Cheers, Dazza

gday Dazza, with paypal you have 45 days from the date of purchase to lodge a claim, you log into your paypal acc then above your transaction records you click on Resolution centre then go from there,  ken

Thanks Ken, looks like I did my money, about 10 days late to claim. Buggar, didn't know you could do that.

Cheers, Dazza
