I need some help here. So my dad and I found a great deal on a 1984 FJ1100 project. The bike is COMPLETELY disassembled down to every last nut and put in bags and boxes. We got it for only $200. But here's our problem: there are 2 teeth missing on the timing gear on the crankshaft :( we're not sure what to do. We don't have an extra $250 to spend on a new crankshaft so is there any way it's still usable? Or is there anywhere that I can get one cheap? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't be happy using a crankshaft in that condition.
There's a BIN on ebay for $154. It's off a 1200 but is the same as an 1100. If you were over here in the UK I'd give you one for nothing.

Ok thanks ill look into that. Would any FJ1200 crankshaft work or does it have to be a certain year(s)?
All the same right the way through to the XJR's.

Thanks :) I might get the one that's $154
Timing gear?
The ignition timing is controlled by a removable rotor. The only gear teeth on the crank is the clutch drive.
Can you post the picture via Photobucket?

Maybe starter chain or camchain teeth?

Yeah sorry i meant camchain teeth.
I knew what you meant. Don't take Einstein to work it out.
Where are you located? I have an 1100 crank I'd let go for cheap.

Central Wisconsin
I live near Rochester MN, let me dig it out and make sure it survived 'hibernation'.

I have a 1200 crank if this one falls through.
Cam teeth broken, I have never seen that before.
I am still interested in seeing that.
