Post by: rlucas on March 09, 2014, 01:42:32 PM
Well, shit. It's up for sale. Anybody interested in a joint business venture? FJOC, Inc.?

It's been for sale for quite a while, but IMO it's not worth even close to the reduced price.    :unknown:

Yeah I know it's been for sale for two or three years at least.  I don't know what they're asking, but seems like it has more potential than they've made of it.

Probably a tough business.. very seasonal for sure.  In GA, the Wolfpen Gap country store in Suches on the corner across from T.W.O. and TWO itself both folded up around the same time and were out of business for a year or so.  I hear they're both back now.  Exception is the Crossroads of time store at deals gap, it always seems to do pretty well.

But you're right, it would making rockin FJOC Inc. clubhouse!   Let's all meet in Boone and talk about it over some redcap.

Shady Valley Country Store is 'reduced' to $550k.  Way overpriced, IMO, but how do you comp something like that out?    :unknown:

TWO closed because the property owner and TWO couldn't come to terms on a new lease (I don't think the estate wanted them there anymore).

The new owners of the WP Gap store seem to be doing well... maybe the prior guy just didn't know how to manage a business.
A redcap fueled discussion seems like a great idea, if someone can source some.

Honestly I'd just as soon take a swig of kerosene, that was for Rock.  If he thinks we have some, maybe he'll come to Boone.   (shhh..)  :pardon:

Actually, the reason I come to Rallies is to hang out with you guys. Although I'll admit being a fan of Red Cap, in addition to shavin' my head I quit drinkin'. Completely. No booze, no wimmin, no weed, no Jesus, and I don't play golf anymore. Kinda makes suicide look attractive.

I still smoke cigarettes, though, but I even gave that up for a while. I mean, a fella's got to have at least one vice, right?

You lost me at no wimmin..  :shok:

Hanging out is # 1, redcap was extra icing - well, for some.  Not for me though.  I can burp up stomach bile just thinking about it.

Did they ever rebuild the KOA at Tellico?

Located at the base of the Cherohala Skyway, it would be a perfect opportunity to get another KOA franchise.

I remember the FJ singing her kookaloo song, while flying by the gardners cutting the lawn along the shoulder of the skyway. What a beautiful road.

I still dream of the sweepers on the Cherohala.

As of 2 years ago, it was still a flat piece of real-estate.
Rumors are it will be rebuilt, but when??

You should make it back there this fall again, Pat, I am planning my return this year with my son with me this time.

there was discussion that the owners were waiting to rebuild it without the control of the KOA corporate, or something like that.
