Title: WHAT DISCS WITH BLUE OR GOLD DOT CALIPERS?
Post by: chiz on March 09, 2014, 09:20:34 AM
Good day all
I am a bit in the dark as to what discs I should look for and from what model.
Have already determined my 3.50 x 17 Yam FZR OR YZF rim will interchange bearings and speedo drive from my 84 no problem, though the new rim has a 20mm bore in the bearing.
The rim came with one disc that has no offset.. dint think it is original.
Rim and hub looks pretty much the same as late model FJ.
Plan to use blue or gold dot calipers.
      Have late model FJ forks.
Anyone guess as to what discs I should be looking for
Don't mind creating a spacer each side to bring the discs out, if too much offset then I have to create brackets.

I'm not sure to exactly what front rim you are referring to, if you use the '87/88 FZR1000 or FZR750 rim we know the 298mm rotors from the '89-93 FJ fit. If you can't find any FJ rotors, there are some aftermarket eBay wave rotors that folks have been having good results with.

The rim is identified by bearing bore diameter As a 94-97 YZF 750R and a FZR1000 94-95.
