Friday and Saturday were 80 deg in Dallas so inspite of working on my FJ I had to go riding--could not pass up the good weather. One of the things I need to fix on my bike is the gas gauge. The needle has gone completely around the dial and now resides on the wrong side of the peg--don't know why. Using the odometer to keep track of gas I thought remaining. Yes I ran out of gas on the highway. Pushing the old girl on the shoulder a nice young man on a new kawasaki 650 stopped and asked if I needed any help. I told him I had just run out of gas and thought I would just keep pushing it to the next gas station as I needed the work out. After talking motorcycles a few minutes he left. Got to the next stop sign and Jeff H. stopped on his way home from work. Jeff asked a few questions and obviously knew FJ's. He informed me he had an 86 FJ and a fairly new Harley. He obviously has the same bad taste in bikes I do. He informed me his FJ mostly sat in the garage and he rode the Harley. Just the opposite of me. Its hard to get your kookaloo on a Harley. After talking bikes for nearly an hour he said he would get me some gas. He returned with 5 Gallons and would not take any money--just said pay it forward--which I will. Thanks Jeff. If you change your mind about selling your FJ let me know. You meet the nicest people on FJ's. Dave
