Hi All
Still collecting parts for wheel swap . I can get a 1994 gsxr 1100 wheel with everything included but , I see that wheel has different spokes compared to the fzr wheel (not to much difference ) just wondering if anyone had a picture of their bike with that wheel ! Just to see how it would look .
Thanks for you time :hi:
Bill
PS My fzr wheel hasn't been deliverd yet to compare to the gsxr wheel
Hey Bill, just to clarify, you want a picture of the GSXR *rear* wheel, correct?
The GSXR front wheel uses a larger axle than the 15mm dia. FJ axle.
The pictures I have seen posted on the rear GSXR swap shows the same 3 spoke wheel design as our late model FJs and the 87/88 FZR1000/750 front wheel.
I don't know what year Suzuki moved the Gixxer over to the lighter 5 spoke or 6 spoke design.
Hi Pat
I wanted to see the wheels on a bike . fzr front wheel and the 1994 GSXR 5-1/2 x 17 wheel The spoke are supposed to be a little different than the 90 - 92 rear wheel gsxr , according to the KIT KAT write up. I haven't got my Fzr 1987 1000 wheel here yet and have nothing to compare the gsxr wheel . to see how they would look on a bike ! I thought if some one had a pic of their bike with this wheel swap. I did go on line and dig up some pic's of the 2 different wheels but wondered how they would look on the bike
Thanks for your time
Bill
hope this helps
The FZR front looks identical to the 88-93 FJ wheel. The only difference is the width of the rim.
Yea John, we know that.
Bill, what is the difference you see with the '94 GSXR rear rim?
3 straight spokes or...?
The FZR and FJ has 3 angled spokes...

Ok
I see the difference with those pictures you have ! The pictures I found online were a little hard to see the difference. That probably won't look to bad with different style spokes when I powder coat them black.
Using the 87 FZR 1000 front wheel which I bought but have not received yet and the 94 GSXR 1100 rear wheel complete package ,that I can buy locally at a good price ( If the Kit Kat Black write up is correct and is a straight bolt on so to speak with some 4 mm spacers !
Thanks Again :scratch_one-s_head:

Hello Bill, the '92 GSXR 750 or '94 1100 wheel is an easy swap. Yep, just 1 x 4mm washer each side and it all lines up spot on.
I've got a little pictorial in my signature below, :good2:
Thanks X ray
I looked at that pictorial very nice :i_am_so_happy:
All I have to do is decided which spoke design to go with . The straight spoke , looking one or the slanted one that matches the 1988 FZR 1000 front wheel that I'm waiting on !

Bill you may have to play with the spacers a bit. I used a 93 GSXR 750 wheel and had to change out one spacer with a different size. No big deal just heads up. In 1993 Suzuki did a small change to the swing arm linkage which changed the center line of the tire slightly so they changed the spacer combo to adjust. That's out of memory from when I did mine.

Thanks George
One thing did everyone change the sprocket to 530 chain size or is it already that size ? on the GSXR
Thanks again
Bill
All of the info I could find, is that the 90-95 GSXR750 used a 530 chain. A good idea to buy a new sprocket when you do the wheel swap.
42 tooth, keeps OEM ratios

38 tooth, lower RPM's at freeway speeds, minimal acceleration change, better gas mileage.

I'm picking up my forks tomorrow then hours of polishing . Ha Ha the salvage yard guy has to dig out the rear wheel and related parts in a transport trailer buried in snow .
