Title: Hello from Hungary !
Post by: Vilike on October 19, 2009, 03:14:17 PM
Hi there guys, i am Vilike from Várpalota, Hungary !
My age is 28, i am working in Alcoa Hungary, doing NDT.

I had to buy an FJ 1200 '86 last sunday.   :good2:

The bike is from Italy, and it was not used from about 10 years . It can be seen on its every part.
The engine cannot run, 'cause all four carb-membranes are dead.

Oh thats a nice one.... love the color combination.

I guess you are handy at turning some wrenches?

i would almost bet you are going to have to rebuild the clutch slave as well as getting the carbs back in good shape again.

KOokaloo!

Vilike,

Welcome to the group.

Carb slides are expensive but the FJOC in the UK does replacements on an exchange basis. I've had a set in my FJ for 40k miles.

Üdvözöljük itt!

Nice looking FJ.

The Carb membranes/ diaphragms may well be in decent shape, they may not.  It's easy enough to inspect them while you have the carbs off to clean them, which you'll almost certainly have to do.  Gummed up carbs is a fairly common issue for bikes that have been sitting as your did.

Do yourself a favor, pull the carbs and inspect the diaphragms before ordering any new expensive parts.

Vilike,

Hello and welcome....    :hi:

Nice bike.  Looks as though somebody already spend the money to make into a nice touring bike.  Did it come with bags as well?  Once you get that baby running you are going to be set for a road trip!

Ride on.....

Later, Phil

G'Day from Australia Vilike,
we have a lot of Hungarian people in Australia, and I've got a lot of Hungarian friends.
As my Hungarian mates, (Máté,Mihály,Pal,Laszlo) say whenever they see  me,"Lo'fasz a seggedbe!"
