Hank Scott. Just got my 1350 done....109.8ftlbs and 155.1hp. :wacko3: now that's gonna be fun. He said that's 36hp and 25ftlbs over stock on his dyno.
My stock carbs, stock cams.
Now I just have to put it all back together, and then sit and stare at it. Until the weather allows me to take it outta the garage.
let's see 36 more ftlbs and my bike weighs atleast 40lbs less than stock. Kookaloo!!!

I just  looked back at what he said was stock on his dyno 119hp and 74 ftlbs. That would make it almost 36ftlbs over stock! Have to go back and change the last statement.

Oh Dan, you are in for a treat. Nice numbers....Kudos!

First ride: 1) Start off on clean and dry roads only, till you get a good feel for the throttle.
              2) Easy does it when powering up while leaned over coming out of a corner.
              3) Take a piss *before* you leave....you will see what I mean, trust me.

What's the name of the bike? It is customary for all 1350s to have a name. Think about it.
We have Brutus, Thor, Wizzard, etc....

My Fzr1000 I had built. Was 187hp. Don't remember the torque but it had the lightened crank too.
I slid the forks up, to make it less wheelie prone. It would raise the front wheel about 2" and drive you with smoke billowing off the back tire.  The first time it did it I didn't even know the tire wasn't on the ground, until I went to counter steer for the corner. And nothing happened. Luckily because of excessive tire spin I wasn't really going that fast.
But yes I will ease into it. Not having the lightened crank or flat slides should. Make throttle control a little easier to learn.
And all that power easier to control.

It like my buddies built 2 stroke banshee. It fun to ride. But I'm always a lot faster on my 4 stroke 700 raptor. Because it's so much easier to use the power.

Machine celebrates the Pinball Wizard movie of the early 70's...  As does Captain Fantastic, the follow-on release with a very gay looking Elton John on the glass (along with dozens of hotties in various states of undress).  Definitely a bizarre f'ing movie, but to this day they are the highest selling pinball machines (CF is #1, Wizard is #2) in the US.

Too bad Brutus is taken. That was my nickname, back when I used to be a bouncer.
Maybe Popeye, I would have to use nitrous, as my spinach to beat Brutus. With the lightened crank and flat slides.
I don't know.
I'll have to wait until I get a chance to take it for a ride... I'm sure it will come too me... like holy fn shit.

Hey GK,
Am Planning a similar build for my Radian (!986 FJ1200 Engine), did you end up using the factory cylinder block from your 86?

No Hank had a 1250 cylinder block that was sleeved.
got the engine back. Now I have to put it all back together! And workout the 2001 r1 swingarm. And a few other things.

What would be the best way to remove all the original fj1200 stickers. So I can replace them with the custom fj1350r stickers, that Jeff made for me?

I used a razor blade to get under the decals. A lot pealed off with a lite pulling action. It took 20 min. each.

I wouldn't use this on ANY plastic parts.  I can only imagine how hot that metal got while grinding off those decals.

Joe did it mess up/pull up the paint. I know you probably painted it red or something. Ha ha  can't wait to see the finished bike. It's an insane amount o red. But I find myself thinking I'm really going to like it.  I on the other hand don't want to do any repainting . Besides re clear coating. Want to do as little damage as possible.

Hey monkey don't know if that would work so good on our clear coated stickers.
I guess I have a long night with a razor blade. Do you think heating them with the wife's hair dryer would help?

I did nick the paint but just a little. I could have been a little more carefull and not did any damage. There was some adhesive that stayed on the pannels, I sanded but I saw a post that talked about adhesive remover. If you nick it, you'll probably only doing it to the clearcoat. It was pretty thick on my bike. I didn't pull any paint at all.

No no no on the razor blade idea....
I could not load Mark's You Tube video so I don't know what that shows...
However, I just did this on my '84 and here is what I found after talking to the pros.

Body shops have a special tool for decal removal. It's a soft gum (eraser type) material that is used on a cordless drill. You can use it on a air tool but you have to be *very careful* not to burn the paint or ABS.
Works like a charm. Does not hurt the paint.

I am really looking forward to the completion of........ ?  What was her name again?

The vid is just that, a power tool that can be used lightly to remove decals... Heavy on other sub-straights like metal and Fiber Glass but temperature is an issue with our ABS...

The FJ1100 and FJ1200 stickers on the side panels are not clear coated... The tank yes, but side covers no.
At least that is how they are on my '84 and '92

I started on the tail piece(using my finger nails last night)  and it is clear coated . I might have to look into the gummy wheel.

I'm going to hold off on the name until the first ride. Mike iron butt Ramos, suggested Hercules. I kinda like it but still want to take the first ride.

You just reminded me about the tail piece. That took a couple of hours
because of a tape line around the transition. The tape wasn't vinyl, I dont think.
It was like 1/8" friction tape with clearcoat on it. I had to pick at it with the razor (the utility type without the handle)
A lot of sanding. It's like an obtuse angle were it goes around to the sides and I think there
is still more down in the corners that I didn't get.

Believe it or not... Peanut Butter will do a good job at removing decals. I had heard about this a while ago & thought that it was a joke, until I watched my buddies wife & sister inlaw remove all the stickers from a Barbie Jeep by smearing Peanut Butter on the decals & letting it sit in the sun for a while.

I suppose you would want to use creamy instead of chunky, but I don't know if it matters. Something in the peanut butters oils lifts the stickers.

If it fails, no harm done, just let your dog clean it off.

Hair dryer mite work or a steamer. Razor blades work but if you slip it's not a good look. There's a product over here in Australia which is called goo. It removes sticker/ gum and residue left by decals it's a citrus based product. Dan I'm looking forward to seeing the stickers on the bike.

Bought a smaller version of the monkey eraser. And it worked great . Did burn a small spot in the paint. But it was on the first one. Got to keep it moving. Took them all off in a couple minutes. They all are clear coated on the 86.
