Title: Brake caliper bolts
Post by: keand3 on January 26, 2014, 03:26:26 AM
Hi guys

I was looking at et parts microfiche for my 86 1200 to identify the bolt size on my calipers. (front and back are the same)
I will be replacing the rear ones since the are full of rust, and the threads are worn.

But i would like to het it from someone how knows the size.
I get the size M10x308mm from the microfiche. Isen't 308mm i length a wird figuer or is it just me?

Cheers
Ken

I figured it out.
The bolt is 40mm in total length. 308mm is just the aera where the threads is..

Ken, if you're buying bolts, get the bolts from the YZ750, they're hollow, saving a bit of unsprung weight.  Yami p/n 90105-10725-00 BOLT,WASHER BASED.  Also, the stock FJ bolts seem to have gone obsolete.

Thanks, I will check them out. I was thinking of ordering new bolts from http://www.pro-bolt.com/ (http://www.pro-bolt.com/)
Have used them before but they are a bit expencive. But they deliver perfect quailty.
