With all the Global Warming goin' on, it's been too cold and snowy to take the FJ out, so it's been sitting in the garage on the battery tender since the beginning of November. Today it's 40F, but the winds are 50, so it's not a pleasant day, but I'm off, so I pulled it out and fired it up. Riding in town was fine, but the wind in the open country was brutal. Lean lean lean. (Windchill 26F)
Even took it to Wally World to look for 9mm ammo, and the cops where there. They probably should just set up a branch office there.
Anyhow, was good to ride, it still ran great, (Thanks Randy!) and with a hoodie, winter coat, neck gaiter and snowmobile gloves it wasn't too bad.
You can see some ice and snow left over but the roads are finally dry.

It's good that you got out. They should come out with a wind chill speedometer so we'll know when were the warmest. :mail1:

Yeah, that would be nice, haha!
I wish I could come up with some kind of fairing or fabric that would wrap around the front and my legs to keep them warm, like we used to have on old tractors:

You can get them.... guaranteed....I saw many of them in Paris....they seem to ride bikes and scooters all year round. It's called a "heat houser"
Every day that we can ride during the months of December, January and February is bonus time. :yahoo: We had a record setting day yesterday of 70F degrees. We had a low of -5F early last week. A crazy :wacko3: 75F degree temp change is 7 days.....
I don't own any, but there are a few members that have electrically heated Vests, Pants, and gloves.

Are those runners you have on?, your feet must've been frozen?. We get 40 degrees in Perth (Oz) but that's in Celsius.
Runners? Lol. Actually calling them runners instead of tennis shoes does make more sense. Gotta love you Aussies. I didn't notice cold feet on the FJ at 18to22F. Engine heat? Dave

Yeah they're my runners, tennis shoes whatever.
No, my feet didn't freeze at all.
Good thing I didn't have my thongs on! haha
BTW I've always wanted to go to Perth....
Well here's a good excuse to come to Oz, we have the FJ rally (Randy from RPM will be attending as well as a few others) in March in Jindabyne, its only about 4,000km from Perth but that's just a days ride in Australia , plenty of food (road kill) on the way through the Nullabor (petrol $2.10 per litre), but you'll have a fight with eagles that have a 6ft wing span (mini Cessna) and you can wear your "runners" without feeling any cold (at this time of the year), lots of petrol stops (every 190kms with nothing in the middle).
you have to give way to our wild life (see picture )

Hmmm.... That looks like Perth might really suck. Glad you warned us of making the possible mistake of visiting. I wonder if Perth has any bull fighting? It must have some redeaming feature(s). :empathy:

That's Susanne.
A friend of mines 13 year old daughter.
I think the photo captures the innocence and freedom of Aussie girls her age.
