just to fill you in. i bought the bike with this problem.the guy thought it was the solenoid so changed it but still same.it started ok when i bought it.took it home in back of van, turned key no power.changed fuse, bike started. has sat in my garage since[6 days ago].i did start it up 7-8 times in that period.today the battery was flat so i took it out and charged it[bout 4 hours].put it back in and no power.it has blown the fuse again.i have all fairings off.now whats the first think i should be looking for?where do i start.wiring not my best point!
check the wiring to the horn. its a good idea to install a relay for the horn so it isn't hot continuously.

thanks.i found it where the wires went on fire!handy really as just a few melted wires to fix and i would have had a hard time finding it but for the smoke and flames[just small].it was a red wire going to the dash.
horn wires won't blow the main fuse, they'll blow the dash and brakelight fuse. for future reference.

You have mostly done this but check all the fuses are the right size so as they will blow in the correct sequence. If the main fuse is less than say the headlight one the main will blow first.
Cheers.
