Title: Fought with Pod Air Filters and Lost
Post by: Lotsokids on November 13, 2013, 02:09:44 PM
My 4 individual pod filters never did fit right. While tinkering on the bike today I noticed that the middle two had fallen off. They have probably been off for a year. Every time I tighten the hose clamps, they slide off. The lip is just too short on the carburetor. I messed with them for a couple hours tonight. Now I have one duct-taped in place until I get some new ones.

Clean the mating surfaces with contact cleaner, and avoid overtightening them.

...avoid overtightening them.

That's been a problem all my life... I need to keep that in check. :pardon:

Invest in the UNI pods that fit two carbs at a time. They seem to go on alright.

Just bought a set and they went on great. Clean the snouts and mounting surface with some grease cutting cleaner.. I used a dab of brake cleaner on a paper towel. Let them dry and snug down.
