'04 GSXR 600/750--NOT '03.
These mirrors are almost a bolt-on item. Even on the '86 models. As you can see, they aren't completely level--but, while being level would give you a tiny bit more viewing area, they are completely functional as-is with a great viewing area. My arms now take up maybe 15% of the inner part of the mirror.
To fit them, 5 minutes with a rat-tail file ($5 at home depot, or $10 for a set full of files) was all that was needed. I found that some of my screws looked... well... "screwy"... so turns out home depot had stainless identical matches for .80/piece. Got two of those.
You have to grind more than you think, so I had to grind, refit, take off, grind again more times than I should have, but really--the metal they use fades like butter under a fresh file, so it doesn't take long at all.
And the vibration? I am in awe. They are superb in that regard. That's the benefit of getting OEM parts.
A similar wedge to Mark's design could be put under the mirror base, I'm sure, to level out the mirrors. But I'm really fine with them as-is.
First two pics are from a bike I saw in the wild after the transplant and realized they must be the same.
I got mine used off of ebay for like $30 shipped, with some plastic scuffing on the back.

Is your bike a 3CV? Looks it to me, where did you remove the metal from?
I've had a look on e bay and elsewhere, do you have the part No?
1TX, '86. How could it look like a 3CV with that paint job? xD
If I am not mistaken, they should fit the 3CV even better, which instead of having a level mounting surface like the 1TX, are slightly tilted. (Someone confirm?)
The metal removed was just lengthening out the screw holes away from the center. The mounting points are farther apart than the screw holes on the mirror bases.
Note that you have to remove metal from both the normal part you would think to remove it from at the base, but also from the lip at the top to fit in the head of the screw. (Alternatively you could narrow the screw head down, but that will probably be a lot harder than filing down the mirror.

They have a right mirror as well listed, $12 each. OEM mirror set, $24 + shipping + $5 for a file, and you're good to go.
Or you keep your OEM bases and base cover. The new mirror has the RED thread locker on the fastener. Heat that up and you can remove it. You may need some washers for spacers and you can bolt it to your original base. You may also need to grind a little off you original base as the new mirror changes the angle very close to the base. When you test fit it you will see if you need to alter the base. The bolt pattern is perfect, you can wedge a hex drive bit under it to get the angle proper and the boot covers up all the sins.
**If you still have your original bases. My bike came with emgo's already installed. :(
