A little wind therapy... 112 miles in 82 mins = 82 mph average. I hit 3:30 and 4:00 on the speedometer a couple of times, opened it right on up on I-35 on the last leg. The Blanco to San Marcos route on 32 is part of The Devil's Backbone, some wicked curves on that. Gotta watch for deer and 'Ol Scratch Himself on that part... 290 and 35, you're just watchin' for turtles and the DPS.
There's about 15 traffic lights on the Hwy 290 part of the journey. I think I hit green (or yellow) on every one tonight.
Lucky. Yeah, yeah, I know, no vid, didn't happen, but this was just the warm-up. Actually, warm-up #4. I got a flipcam.
Next time, I'll take it. When I get a respectable run recorded, I'll post it. But I did hear The Strange Music tonight.

I prefer night rides. In Texas, it gets too damn hot during the day, even in Autumn, especially with gear on. At night, you can see the headlights of approaching cars, most importantly on curves, and with highbeams on, you can spot deer and road debris about as well as in the day. Less traffic at night too.
The mighty FJ... Below 6000 RPM, it's a cruiser. Above 4000 RPM, it's a sports bike.
Man, we've gotta go for a ride some time. I'll be your witness. ;)
PS--You should update your sig to say "1000 miles in a day".
