As the Norwegians say: "Uff dah!"
The seizing of the camera is a bit sketchy... In the U.S., case law varies wildly on this. In some instances, a camera or cell phone can be seized if an officer believes it contains evidence of a crime, but has to obtain a warrant in order to download any data from it. The courts are sorting these out on a case-by-case basis, but there's no steadfast rule about this. Seems to stretch the boundaries of the fourth amendment. :scratch_one-s_head:

I think the Canadian Constitution, from what I've heard of it is a bit different than the US one, the situation you are citing is an example. Maybe I'm all wet tho...
ya ...the Canadian justice and legal system is quite different here......look at what happened in Toronto during the summit of the big seven leaders a few years ago.....it was more like Marshal Law....was embarrassing !! The justice system here is your guilty until proven innocent .......I am not sure if that has a collateral affect on the low crime rate :pardon: ...... but I have feeling it might...
10000 $ fines off the hop..that's automatic up here they charge you with Stunt Driving...which carries a 10k fine...hope the like public transit
Remember all you Canadians that if your phone is on and not locked the police can take it and look at all the info. If it is locked they cannot touch it. They must then get a warrant. So if you are talking or texting and get pulled over then you must lock it.
