Title: Engine cutting at around 7500 rpm
Post by: eeshed on October 12, 2013, 07:35:32 AM
When I pull hard, full throttle in 3rd the bike will run strong all the way to around 7500 RPM, and than star cutting, like the rev limiter kicks off. I put the coils on a relay, and getting about 13v to the coils. Any ideas for where to look for this problem?
Thanks,
Eyal

That is what my 2nd gear issue feels like, a rev limiter around 7500.

As I recall, the FJ's sold in the Japanese Domestic Market were (among other things) RPM limited to 7500...
Do you by chance, have a JDM model?

Did the problem start after you did the relay mod?  Or did you do the relay mod because of the issue?

How does 2nd gear behave?  4th gear?
