Title: Dyna 2000
Post by: Antonn3 on October 11, 2013, 07:26:51 PM
Hello, when installing the Dyna 2000 module is everyone using the stock wiring set up as in the manual or running custom wiring to the coils?
Reason I'm asking, is as I have it now wired into the stock harness as indicated in the manual. Spliced the module red/white/blue wires into the harness red/white-Orange/gray wires.
I am able to set the timing as indicated with the light on the module, but am not getting the trigger voltage at the coils. 12 volts are at the red coil wires.
Im using the Dyna crank trigger for the FJ.
Am I missing something ?

Thank Tony

Are you taking the module out of the test mode?  Think you have to turn the bike off for the change to take effect in the module.

Only thing I can think of to cause this with the Dyna.

..in the test mode I should still be able to see a trigger voltage at the coils (Orange-Gray wires) as I rotate the crank, at the 1/4 and 2/3 indicators? (module LED comes on)

Thanks,
Tony

Is the orange (dyna) wire grounded?  Try disconnecting the orange wire from the module to see if it will fire. Or try setting the dial to 4 degrees to see if it will fire.
