(http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?action-gallery;sa=view;id=6134)Installed the new conti motions on the new gixxer wheels. I used the zip tie method I read about from a thread in this forum. I figured I would try it in attempt to not put a tire iron on the rim and potentially chip the coated rim. The tire went on effortlessly with just a slight nudge with the palm of my hand and it fell on.cant remember if it was George or Mark Martins thread but thanks. :good2:

I have done 2 fronts and 3 rear tires this way, it seems to get easier each time. Did you balance them as well? $40 at Harbor Freight gets you a decent balancing stand, another $7 for weights. I balanced my wheel without the tire first and painted the weights so I don't pull them off during tire changes. Your wire ties look lighter than what I use, maybe I will change over when I run out of my current supply. I found the best tool to cut the old tire off, one of them sonic multi tools (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/281037581328?lpid=82) with a blade tool attached. Went through the side wall like butter. Good to see another FJowner save some money and also know the job is done properly. :drinks:

I have not balanced the wheels yet but intend to. Thanks for the tip on harbor freights balance stand. I will definitely pick one up. At that price how can you not. I found out by dumb luck that if you do the rear first
There is enough length of the zip ties to re use on the front. I have one of those multi tools with all the different blades, they are a must have in any toolbox.
Cheers :good2:

I'll bet one of these would work about as well:

Might as well save all the money you can, while it's still worth something. :pardon:

Yep! I got mine as a gift but if you don't already have one, the HF tool will get the job done with ease and speed. And as stated, same some $$$.
If you go to Harbor Freight get a pack of those 20" long large zip ties for 2 bucks they work great also. :good2:
