Title: New guy here
Post by: Joe Sull on October 04, 2013, 07:37:29 PM
Hello all, I traded a rifle for an FJ and it was'nt just any rifle either. I'm back riding after 24 years and ended up with this Fighter Jet 11 under me. WOW. I drove it home thursday night with the help of a friend to lead the way. I was glad to have his tail lights to follow cause it felt really crazy sitting on all that power again.
In the 80's I owned 2 new suzuki 1100 in a row. An 83 and an 86. I sold the gsxr in 89 to go to commercial diving school. Have'nt owned a bike since. Feeling that power under me again was awsome. Driving it home at night was like having an out-of-body experience. I took it to work this morning thinking "this is to good to be true". Torque thru the back roads, cranking on the throttle from 40- 60 in fifth gear was just effortless. I love the low end torque. Don't care much about winding out the gears like I use to. (so far) :bomb:
She needs some cosmetic work and the carbs need some attention. I plan to ride for another 2 weeks and then work on this stuff thru the winter.
It's the silver/ black one, if your wondering. I'll get some pics and post later. I'm thinking charcoal metal flake gray with black lettering. If it was the red and white one, I'd think twice about a paint job but I don't like this color scheme. she's got 23.5k on her now.
See you around! Joe.

Welcome to the group Joe....
Take a look in the files section of this forum for all the info you will ever need for working on the carbs.

Enjoy.

CanDman- Very Cool! Yes, Jimmy loved his 11  :hi:.
Thanks Conor for the kind words.
I'm on call to start a job that will last the rest of the winter. I got a few things done around the house and took some pics of the bike. Raining hard so there just pics in the shed.

I've been evaluating and planning what I'm gonna do with it this winter. It's gonna be fun.
