Title: oil level gauge
Post by: bigbore2 on September 28, 2013, 01:19:03 PM
Been noticing a intermittent drip from under bike.  Sourced it to the oil level gauge and I assume the o-ring around it.  I guess I will source another from the gasket supply store here as there is no separate part in the parts diagram [electrical 2]. I am doing an oil change and thought it the time to do it with the oil drained.  Anyone had to replace that 0-ring before?

Check with Randy at www.rpmracingca.com (http://www.rpmracingca.com)

He builds FJ XJR racing engines, he has what you need and ships it quick. Randy is my first stop when shopping for FJ parts.

Just make double-triple sure it's not the slave cylinder.

The oil level gauge on in the clutch cover or the low oil light sending unit in the bottom of the oil pan?

Here is the oil level gauge and the seal is not separately serviceable; Oil Level Sight Gauge (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Engine%3AGaugelevel)

I am not sure about the o-ring on the low oil sender, I will look into that.

Okay, I did some checking and the starter o-ring is the same as the oil pan low oil level sensor.

So, here it is; O-Ring: Starter & Low Oil Level Sensor (http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Engine%3AO-RingStarter%2FOilLevelSensor)

As per Randy, is the same size o-ring as on the starter. This is for the low oil sender on the bottom of the oil pan. just ordered one from Randy and then he just up and sends me one, no charge.  Who do I contact to complain?

A donation should be made to the producer of Randy's favorite beverage.   :drinks:
