Installed bar risers I made after work this past Friday. Also installed 1-1/4 mirror extensions. I'll post pics of both..... when I figure out how........ :unknown:

Actually I have thought about making a fork brace. I saw some really nice looking CAD drawings here on the forum.
I was able to post a pic of the risers in the gallery section.
Cool,, be a market for them if you wanted to make a few

FYI, Randy at RPM made improvements to this design, this design tends to pinch some forks and cause binding.

I have found it easier to just upload pictures into the fjowners "Gallery". Then you can copy and paste the picture into the forum. Or someone can do it for you from there.

Ooooohh nice work mark, did anyone else have a try at making these, other than randy,s cool offerings :good2:
I recently bought some risers off another member here and have not had a chance to use them on the road yet because when I fitted them, it looked like the handlebars would not have enough fork to securely attach to. Looking at the picture above, this is how mine turned out, I was worried a decent bump from the road and one bar would pop that screw out and drift off.
I thought I was doing it wrong, but is the above pic how most riders are doing it?
I have been looking awhile for bars from other bikes that are higher by design than the FJ ones, as I would feel better having them properly secured.
Cheers, Gareth

I was thinking that the cover plugs (which I haven't made yet) inserted into the top of the bar would counteract any pinching effect.
I believe the pinching mentioned was for the fork brace. If you raise the forks slightly in the triple clamps, through the risers, the handlebars will clamp to the top of the fork.

Hee Hee....The pinching comment from FJmonkey makes a lot more sense now! As far as raising the forks, I posted a rather lengthy comment explaining my experience riding a bike with raised fork tubes. It was bad. There could have been more going on than just the forks though.

I have used the a set of bar risers like the set the RPM sells. I have put 8000 miles on the bike since they were installed. I have had no issues with the handle bars getting loose or any other issues with them. Plus the RPM logo on top of each plug/cap looks great.
Fred
How much are the risers from rpm. Could someone post a link please. Also what's the height of risers. Thanks jeff

I have been using RPM's risers for about 3 months and it seems to have helped with my vibration problem a little I was able to do the 400 mile ride with less numbness.
Ordered a set of risers off randy today. Hopefully will be a big improvement. Bigger risers would be good but this is a good starting point. From what I've read it may not e possible to get larger ones. Has anyone got any other alternative thoughts?

It's always possible to put bigger ones on, it's just a matter of effort (and sense):

I was wondering who might ride such a bike, the sign in the background gives a clue.

I think the limiting factor is hitting the fairing on lock.
Where are the mirror extension photos then?
