Title: Fires burning
Post by: yamaha fj rider on August 14, 2013, 11:29:22 PM
There are fires burning about 25 miles from my home and ash is coming down like snow right now. You can see the fires burning on top of the ridge line. I will try and post some pictures later in the week.

Hope it stays 25 miles away........... "Tis" the season.  Fires up here also but all we are getting is smoky sky's, makes for eerie sunrises and sunsets. Take care
Lets see, your "bug out plan" grab the FJ and see what fits on it.....  :drinks:

FJ is in torn apart at the moment. Maybe some time this weekend to put it back together.

Not worried about my house but wife's parents have some property that is close to the fire. Very nice land, their plan is to build a cabin on place. Would suck if it burned. The homes in the area that were threatened are safe for now. Started by lighting Saturday and has burned over ten thousand archers. Almost no containment.

Kurt,

Stay safe.  'Bug out' early if you even think it may be necessary.  Many of the victims of wildfires here are caught on narrow smoke obscured roads, that have fallen trees and other crashed cars on them.  Don't be one of those who wait to leave at the last moment.  Remember, you can replace everything except you life.
